Here at Adonis Recycling, we’re committed to charitable giving and to contributing to the betterment of our community. Through our recycling program, Adonis was able to raise $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation. Our donation allowed a child to receive his wish of visiting Disney World. Adonis was also able to use $3,500 to sponsor a runner who ran to support the Pat Shallow Foundation.
Through our recycling efforts, Adonis was able to donate $10,000 to the JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Foundation) to help its ongoing efforts to cure Type 1 diabetes. This is an especially personal achievement for us, as one of Adonis’ owners’ great niece has Type 1 diabetes, and the other owner’s sons both have it as well, requiring as many as 5-6 insulin shots every day. In addition to the original donation, Adonis also held a trivia night for the JDRF which raised an additional $2,500.
In conjunction with the Jefferson Franklin Community Action and Disability Resource Association, Adonis Recycling donated 100 desktops to underprivileged families in our local community, and our employees and owners personally installed the systems. In addition to being able to benefit those families in their homes, we’ve heard through a client that a mother of one of the families was inspired to enroll in the local junior college, and was already in her second semester.
Stories like these motivate us to continue to look for ways that we can positively affect our community and others through charitable giving. We look forward to seeing what opportunities present themselves in the future!
